Half Term Homework!
After the holidays, we will be learning about the home life of the Ancient Greeks: what they wore, what they ate, what their homes were like, the kind of jobs they did and the religion that they practised.

To get you started, we would like you to find out about the Ancient Greeks gods and goddesses. A good website to start you off can be found here: http://www.historyforkids.net/ancient-greek-gods.html

The gods and goddesses were believed to be responsible for different aspects of Ancient Greek life. Can you find one that has a link to your life, hobbies and interests? For example, if you like swimming, water sports or lazing on a beautiful beach, then you might like Poseidon, the God of the Sea.

Your task is to choose your favourite god or goddess and write them a letter telling them what you like about them and describing their best qualities and powers. You could try to use some exciting adjectives and sensational similes. It might be a good idea to ask them some interesting questions too!

I can't wait to see what you find out!

Have a lovely break. I'm looking forward to seeing you back at school soon.

  2. Dear Athena

I am writing to you, because I like the same things that you do. I think we are very similar. I like doing Mix Martial Arts and I am winning my fights like you. I am also enjoying drawing , crafts and arts. In my bedroom walls I have my drawings . Do you have any drawings on your wall in your temple?. You are a very powerful women and I hope when I grow up I will be powerful too. I heard that you like mathematics and I like it too. I am good with numbers and I like shapes. Reacently our teacher gave us a flute to play music. I've read that you invented the flute. Do you like playing a flute?

    Your Sincerely

  3. Dear
Zeus(god of lightning and the leader of all gods)

I love you. You're my favourite Greek god than any other. I like the way you are in charge of lightning and the father of most of the other gods. I like the way the Ancient Olympics were made in your name. The best bit about you is when you defeated your father (Kronos) so you could free your brothers and sisters.

I'm wandering how you became leader of the gods and not your brothers, Poseidon or Hades? How do you control your lightning?

    Yours,
    Faithfully,
    Adnan

I like how you were born it is a very very unusual way. I like the way you impressed the ancient greek people to make the city be named after you. Thank you so much for the useful Olive tree.
When were you born? Where were you born?

  7. Dear Hestia,
I am writing to you because you are very kind, honest, helpful and peaceful goddess. We both do not like gossip and violence. How is Zeus’s son related to you? Was he grateful that you gave up your throne? Many people pray to you for looking after them and have hearth in their homes which is lit all the time. I would like to be calm and kind person like you.
    Yours sincerely
