Homework due Friday 26th May 2017

Your homework this week is to research about input and output devices on a computer, tablet or laptop. You then need to write a paragraph about what you have found out.

The following video contains a lot of information to help you:

You need to include:
  • ·        A description of an input device
  • ·        A description of an output device
  • ·        Examples of input devices
  • ·        Examples of output devices
  • ·        How input and output devices link together e.g. typing on a keyboard into a document (input) and then printing the document (output)

  1. A Description of an input device:
A keyboard is used to put information from your own self into a computer.

A Description of an output device:
A radio is used to play music and the music comes to you not you typing in the music like its an input device instead it comes directly to you.

    Examples of input devices:
A mouse, a keyboard, webcams, iPads, a microphone and plenty more.

    Examples of output devices:
A radio, printers, monitors, TVs, iPads and plenty more.

How input and and output devices link together:
    They communicate with Radiowaves.

  2. Input devices and output devices.
    input devices
A input device is something used to put data into the computer. for example a keyboard, mouse, microphone and a web cam.

    output device
A output device is something used to receive information from the computer. for example a speaker, a printer and a monitor.

All of the photos, messages and news and stuff like that have to be digitized, that means to be changed to numerical data which is in the form of binary codes.

when we send a email, our input device is the keyboard which we used to put the message in. This is changed into binary code. The receiver reads it on the monitor which is a output device.

    Input and output devices

    Description of input device:

An input device is something that puts information into a computer. So if you were to film a YouTube video you would need input devises.
    Description of output device:

An output devise is something that prints something out from a computer.
    Input devises are:

Keyboard, microphone, webcam, mouse, pointing device tablet. Joystick, Light pen, Mouse, Optical, Pointing stick, touch pad, Touchscreen, Trackball.
    Output devises are:

Monitor, Printer, Plotter, Projector, Speaker, Headphones and Light / LED.
    How they link together:

They link together because they both have to be digitized and each code stands for something different the have numerical data

  4. An input is data that a computer receives. That can be a keyboard, mouse, web cam, microphone and interactive withe board.

An output is data that a computer sends. That can be a radio, printers, monitors, TVs, iPads and more.

For example, a keyboard sends electrical signals, which are received by the computer (input).
Those signals are then interpreted by the computer and displayed on the monitor as text (output).
The computer sends data to a printer, which will print the data onto a piece of paper (output).

  5. An input device is a device that you put information into for example a keyboard a mouse and a camera.

An output device is a document that you take out for example a printer speakers or a monitor.

Input and output devices use binary code to communicate with one another. Wireless devices such as keyboard send radio waves when they are close by.

  6. Input devices are any information or data that is sent to a computer for processing is considered input. Input or user input is most often sent to the computer using an input device . Computer software can receive data in the form of an input stream, which is a flowing sequence of data that can be directed to specific functions. The directed channel in which the data stream flows is known as a pipeline, and changing its direction is known as piping. In Unix-like operating systems such as Linux or BSD, the input stream is one of the three standard data streams. It's known as the "standard input" stream, and often abbreviated as standered input E.g. Keyboard, Mouse, Microphone, Webcam, Touchpad, Graphics Tablet and a Scanner. Output devices are any information that has been processed by and sent out from a computer or similar device is considered output. A simple example of output is anything you view on your computer monitor. The bottom half of the image to the right shows data being sent from a computer to a printer, which is considered output. That data is then printed onto a piece of paper, also considered a form of output. E.g. Digitized speech, Hard copy and a Soft cop

An input device is something you put in a computer screen. Example
mouse, keyboard, microphone and web cam.

An output device is when you take information from the computer. Another example is a speaker, monitor or a printer.

Input and output devices use numerical or binary codes to communicate. wireless keyboards use radio waves to communicate with each other.

But have you ever wondered if there's a device that has both input and output device? Yes there is!
An iPad or an iPhone has both input and output. The input is used by touch and the output is used by graphics.

  8. 1. When you put an information or force into a subject.
    2. Output is when you write an email.
    3. When you download music (input), and you can listening to it(output).
    4. When you put dirty washing into washing machine (input) and clean washing comes out (output).
5.When you string the guitar (input), and music comes out (output).

Input devices are which we use to put information into a computer like a keyboard, mouse, microphone and web camera.
Output devices are which we use to get information out of a computer.for example Speakers,Monitor and Printer
Input and output devices get link together by converting the information into numerical data.
Wireless keyboard sends the information to the computer by using Radiowaves.
